Welcome to EquiLyn Equine Nutrition
My name is Lyn, a lifelong horse lover and owner of a 7-year-old Thoroughbred.
When I purchased my horse, I felt completely lost. Despite feeding a so-called “weight gain” diet, he simply would not gain condition. I felt like I was doing everything right… yet nothing was working.
It was through completing my equine nutrition training, including the NRC Plus program with Dr Kellon, that I truly understood what was missing.
I discovered that a ration is not just about adding calories.
Proteins, minerals, and vitamins must work together in precise balance. Each element influences the other. Without the correct balance, even the best “weight gain” feed can fail.
That experience completely changed the way I see equine nutrition.
I know how lonely, frustrating, and overwhelming it can feel when you are struggling with your horse’s condition. That is exactly why I created EquiLyn Equine Nutrition so no owner has to feel lost, and everyone can have the knowledge and clarity to feed their horse correctly, confidently, and effectively.
My Philosophy
I believe that a properly formulated diet is the foundation of:
A healthy horse
Sustainable performance
A balanced and stable mind
Long-term soundness and longevity
Every horse is unique.
Age, body weight, workload, environment, forage quality, and medical history all influence nutritional requirements.
My approach is scientific, personalised, and independent.
I work in accordance with NRC (National Research Council) guidelines, forage analysis when available, and precise calculations to balance:
Digestible Energy
Proteins & amino acids
Minerals (Ca:P ratio, copper, zinc, selenium…)
Vitamins (including Vitamin E, often underestimated)
What I Offer
✔ Complete ration analysis
✔ Personalised requirement calculations
✔ Feed cost optimisation
✔ Adjustments for performance horses, young horses, seniors
✔ Ongoing support and follow-up adjustments
My goal is not to sell bags of feed.
My goal is to ensure your horse receives exactly what they need, no more, no less.
